Dear Principals, Teachers, Guidance Counselors and Youth Professionals,

On Friday, June 8, 2007, YouthBridge-NY will be convening the 5th Annual Youth Summit 2007: Express Yourself! Diverse Teens Taking Charge.

The Program: This exciting and cutting edge conference convenes the best and brightest high school student leaders in our city for a day of key note speakers, workshops, and trainings.  We are asking you to select up to 7 of your high school students in grades nine through eleven to participate.  You must register them online or by fax.

Who should you select to participate?  When selecting your students we encourage you to look beyond the traditional definition of a “student leader” and to identify students who represent your school’s diversity and can grow and benefit from the event as well as bring the message of different communities working together for the common good back to your school.

Registration Information: Please register your students online at http://www.youthbridgeny.org/summit-forstudents.htm no later than April 25, 2007.  All students must receive permission from a parent or guardian to attend the summit http://www.youthbridgeny.org/Parent_Permission_Slip.doc. Please send a completed and signed permission slip for each student who you are registering.
Space is limited to the first three hundred student leaders and fifty faculty members who register.

About YouthBridge-NY: YouthBridge-NY (YB-NY) engages teens to proactively address issues of diversity and community building at an early age.  Through the YB-NY Fellowship service-learning program, youth leaders from diverse backgrounds who represent public high schools and youth organizations from all five boroughs of New York City develop basic knowledge and skills of diversity.  Topics include ways to promote intergroup relations, coalition building, and community service. www.youthbridgeny.org
